Frequently Asked Questions
Individual Therapy | California
-
Therapy, also known as counseling or psychotherapy, is a collaborative process between you and a therapist with the goal of addressing emotional, psychological, and relational issues. Through a supportive and confidential environment, therapy provides a space for exploration, insight, and healing to help you overcome challenges and reach your personal goals.
-
This depends on your needs, goals, and progress. Some people may find that they feel more confident in their own abilities to problem-solve in a few months, while others may benefit from longer-term therapy. We will collaboratively determine the duration and frequency of your therapy sessions to best support your journey.
-
I am an out-of-network provider, which means I do not directly accept insurance. However, I can provide you with a superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. I recommend contacting your insurance provider to inquire about your out-of-network mental health benefits before starting therapy.
-
Payment for therapy sessions is made at the time of service. I accept payment in the form of cash, check, or credit/debit card. If you would like to use insurance for potential reimbursement, I can provide you with a superbill containing all necessary information for submission to your insurance company.
Sessions are:
$185 for 50 Minutes
$225 for 80 Minutes
-
The frequency of therapy sessions depends on your needs and goals. Initially, we may meet weekly to get to know each other and set goals. As therapy progresses and you begin to experience positive changes, we may transition to bi-weekly sessions. Ultimately, the frequency of sessions will be determined collaboratively between us based on your progress and preferences.
-
I kindly request that you let me know 24 hours before our session to cancel or reschedule. If you do not show up for your scheduled therapy appointment and you have not given at least 24 hours of notification in advance, you will be responsible for the full cost of the session.
Couples Counseling
-
If you and your partner are experiencing frequent conflicts, communication problems, or feelings of disconnection, couples counseling can help. It is also beneficial for addressing specific issues like infidelity, trust, or significant life changes.
-
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) is at the core of my approach. EFT focuses on the emotional bonds between you and your partner. EFT works to help you understand and respond to each other's attachment needs. By recognizing the underlying emotions driving your behaviors, you can break free from destructive patterns and create a secure, loving connection. We'll work together to identify your negative cycles, explore the emotions and needs beneath them, and develop new ways to interact that bring safety and closeness.
-

This depends. The frequency of sessions depends on your specific needs and goals. Initially, we will usually meet weekly to build trust and a treatment plan. Over time, we may meet bi-weekly depending on your needs.
